Canada Day is almost upon us and there are great activities all over the country for the whole family. As we all know, trying to figure out exactly what to do can be a challenge, especially with how busy life seems to be these days. That is why we have compiled a short list of activities and a few resources to help make sure that you can make the most of this national holiday. We will cover some celebrations and events in Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper. For more information you can follow the links below!

Here in Calgary!

There are some great events down at Prince’s Island Park. These include

– Célébration Franco-Albertaine

Where you can enjoy interactive carnival games, Francophone music, maple taffy and Poutine!

– Powwow and Indigenous Showcase

Where you can find Calgary various dance performances, drumming, as well as ceremonial teachings and history

In Lake Louise

Probably the most unorthodox but in Lake Louise on Canada Day they host their Polar Bear Dip (anyone who has swam in glacier fed waters can tell you why).

– They also have family activities set up at the Lake Louise sport & recreation centre followed by a ticketed live music event.

Accompanying the beautiful area you can take part in arts and crafts in Centennial Park, a pancake breakfast as well as a Historic walk around town!
