The 2013 Surveyor SPT260, known as the Surveyor Sport, makes towing a breeze because of its lightweight. Along with the easy towing capability, the Surveyor Sport delivers affordable luxury and has some very popular floorplans. The exclusive combination of comfort and functional performance attract RVers of all ages. By adding more standard safety features like a torsion suspension system and design of the all-new vista Lounge, the Surveyor Select is another great choice for families.

Darren Warren, Assistant Manager at Guarantee RV, explains why families consider the Surveyor SPT260 a good choice. “People like the light weight for towing and the functional triple bunks in the back especially for families or guests.”

Forest River is definitely attuned to their customers’ needs and this is reflected in their popular floorplans. Darren adds, “The Forest River Surveyor has been a leader in the ultralight division and hasn’t had to do a whole lot of changes because they have found that they have met a lot the customers’ needs with their floorplans.”

Construction Features
Some of the construction features in the Surveyor units offer superior functionality and durability. This RV is one of the strongest light weight Travel Trailers on the market today because of their lamination process which includes high quality materials, 100% glue coverage and fully framed aluminium floor, roof, walls, fronts and backs.

The Surveyor Sport aerodynamic underbelly is enclosed but not heated like on the Surveyor Select model. One benefit of a heated underbelly is that you can use the coach in colder weather because the entire underbelly is warmed as heat radiates from the heat duct. The Surveyor sidewall is made with tubular aluminum framing in all openings which add strength to the Surveyor sidewalls. Though it is lightweight, the powder coated steel I-Beam frame creates a sturdy foundation.

The running gear incorporates super-lube hubs, the popular Equa-Flex suspension system, and leaf spring axle(s). The radial trailer tires are embellished by the Nev-R-Adjust® electric brakes on all wheels. Also, galvanized steel wheel wells have been incorporated into the design of this unit.

Exterior Features
The exterior length of the Surveyor SPT260 is 28′ 9″ (8.8 m). This unit also comes with a fresh water capacity of 36 gallons, gray water capacity is 30 gallons, and black water capacity is 30 gallons.

The one-piece roof membrane comes with a 12 year warranty. Another exterior feature, the Lamilux Super 4000 “Cool Vanilla” gel coat fiberglass skin, comes with a 2 year warranty on the Surveyor Select only.

The set-up of the Surveyor is simple with the push of a button to activate the electric stabilizer jacks. The exterior storage features are more than adequate on this unit. The flush mount outside storage compartment comes with a rubber D-seal. The “slam latch” outside storage compartment comes with a rubber seal as well but this is only available on the Surveyor Select model. The butyl tape sealant on the seams protects this RV from water seepage.

The drip rail and down spout keep the exterior of the unit pristine as it keeps the rain water from streaking on the side of the RV. This feature along with the butyl tape sealant makes it difficult for water to enter the unit. The 30 lb LP tanks come with a molded cover (20 lb tanks on Surveyor Cadet floorplans). The heated enclosed underbelly is installed on some models.

Safety Features This RV has a combination entrance/screen door with dead-bolt lock for your safety. Also included are a breakaway switch, fire extinguisher, LP detector, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, ground fault protected electrical circuit(s), safety chains, and tinted safety glass.

Interior Features
The Surveyor SPT260 Travel Trailer is a fantastic choice for families since it comes with triple bunk beds (31 x 74) along with bunk storage. The Queen bed in the large bedroom has an accessible super storage center. The Serta Dreamscape mattress comes standard on all Select models and it is optional on the Sports model.

The water filtration system is top of the line and that is standard with each Surveyor Select. This water filtration system filters water for the entire Travel Trailer while eliminating unwanted contaminants and odors. Most importantly, it ensures safe drinking water.

The plumbing is state of the art in the Surveyor RV with a black tank flush, color-coded water lines, copper gas lines, double flared, rotocast holding tanks, (underfloor), rotocast fresh water tank, (underfloor) and a 12 volt demand water pump. Also included with the Surveyor is a city water fill, gravity water fill, water heater bypass kit and a winterization kit which is handy for self-winterizing.

The Surveyor Packages are: Diamond Package; Interior Luxury Package; and Exterior Luxury Package. Each package comes with extras that can be ordered when purchasing the unit. For an in-depth look at what these packages contain, download the 2013 Surveyor brochure here.
