- If you will not be using the RV for an extended period of time disconnect the battery
- Do not overcharge your battery
- Do not charge frozen batteries
- Keep the battery clean and free of corrosion and dirt
- Monitor the battery cables for breaks and corrosion
- Visually inspect the terminals and cables at least once a year
- Check the terminals for corrosion and dirt. If they need cleaning, disconnect battery cables and clean with baking soda and water
- Terminal posts can also be cleaned with baking soda and water solution
- Ensure terminals are fitted tightly at the end of the cables
- Monitor the batteries water level
- Keep the top of the battery clean of heavy dirt and oil with a cloth dampened by ammonia or a 50/50 solution of baking soda and water
